The idea that a stiffer bar being more complient is not typically true though.
And - you missed the part about re-indexing to get the t-bar back into range in our other discussions.
So - A stiffer bar (Higher spring rate) rides stiffer.
The bars do wear out with time...so that they do not have the same range of motion with the same spring rate as they started with...so they are actually MORE compliant, and have a lower spring rate than originally installed.
(So it takes more degrees of twist to reach the spring rate required to support the involved weight)
The bars can only twist so far, most can only twist about 180 degrees.
Because bars wear out, the factory includes t-bar adjusters to essentially allow some ability to re-index the anchor, by simply rotating one end of the bar further, to push down the LCA at at the other end.
The bar itself has no clue as to how much its cranked...its just a bar.
Think of using a wrench to tighten a bolt...you put the wrench on the head, and you turn it...you can only turn so far, before you have to take the wrench off the bolt head, and then put it back onto the head at a new location that allows you to have room to turn it again...
That's all re-indexing does...it takes the wrench off the head, and puts it back on somewhere allowing room for another turn.
Just like when you are wrenching, the bolt has the same torque on it regardless of the clock position the wrench was at...
...the bolt has no idea whether the wrench torqueing it was moving from the 3 O'clock position to the 10 O'clock position, or the 5 O'clock to the 12 O' Clock position...the torque reading is the same.
So - the range of adjustment might run out when you reach, or before you reach, 1.5" of lift...if the bar is worn out...
But, you can remove the bar from its splines, and re-insert it at a new location (The finger dropped down further, so it has more room to swing back up, rotating the bar more than it was able to before).
That said - it sounds like you want new bars.
I'd recommend the 300M bars from SLR...they are the most compliant bars for a given spring rate that you can get for the X....and they are capable of 360 degrees of twist, about double that of the stock or other aftermarket bars.
If not, just re-index the OEM bars to reach the range you're shooting for.
