Did a quick search... wink My Calmini idler arm seems to have a worn bushing(s). After wheeling this weekend I was checking things out and it seems to be very loose or wobbly. I do not remember if it was like that new or not.I would assume it was tight. Not complaining as it has worked well and has been a little abused. I will call Steve but thought I would get input before bothering him. Everything is tightened!

I have damaged and inner tie rod so I will have it apart for replacement.

Anybody got any ideas????

Roger..

If you have one of the older arms I believe that they replaced those bushings with something new. Calmini may just sent you the new stuff if you call them.

:-)

Looks like you guys had fun.. Wish I could have been there.. BTW.. When you coming back up here? I still have a picture for you.

Calmini has been replacing the original blue powdercoated idler arms with a silver plated version. They replaced mine for no charge. Even after replacing it I still have to hit mine with the impact wrench every once in a while to tighten things up.

When did they go to the Silver? I ordered mine the last week of 2003 and got blue.

Seriously ?
Blue was very shortlived. I've had the current silver version since early last Summer.
Where did you order from ?

Really, I ordered mine in November and it was silver. During our trip to Grand Junction, Allen noticed a wobble in the right front. After the trail we looked at the entire steering setup and you could wiggle the right front tire and the idle arm would make a knocking noise. Allen said to pack it with grease and it should go away.

Bought mine form Courtesy. Calmini said I had to go through them for it. Called them yesterday and they said that they would get with Calmini to ship me the new bushings.

Actually the Courtesy rep sounded like he might have been gaffing me off. I will give them a week or two to contact me.He did not ask a lot of info beyond my name.

Calmini was upfront .. I just did not buy from them direct. Heck I will buy the bushings if need be!

I had the same banging problem. I went though 2 idler arms and 3 sets of bushings. Same problem. No matter how much I tightened the same thing would constantly happen (I broke a socket)

Heres the video I made showing the banging: Video and the Xtreme version

Oh that would be Anal Cunt

They're fairly amusing. Every single song on every one of their CDs (about 10 of them) is exactly like that.
