With stiffer shocks on the front and back ie Bilsteins. . .will the XTerra sit more level or is the torsion bar adjustment the only way to assist in leveling out the front end. Is everyones' recommendation to go w/ the 20% stiffer shocks on the front on an X w/ stock suspension?

You would have to adjust the torsion bars to bring the front up. Shocks won't do it.

Like mentioned you'd have to adjust the height up front with the T-bars....Shocks don't change the ride height just the ride quality...

Thanks for the feedback. From all the threads I've looked at, it seems the shock of choice is Bilstein. . .more specifically the 5100 series. I noticed that Bilstein has an "OEM" style shock as compared to the 5100 series. Has anyone used those or are the 5100s the way to go? Thanks again for any advice.

I had some 5100's put on mine today, I'm speechless. The difference is basically night and day. It's a shame X's didnt come straight from the factory with these champs. They seriously got me thinking I don't need a SS after all, at least until I get bigger tires.

you may only want to considr the 20% stiffer fronts if your going to add a winch bumper, a winch, etc. For a daily driver, with occasional offroading, they're really not necessary. And Bilstein gets talked up a lot here  , but look real close, RANCHOS get used here too [ThumbsUp] .
