Hey do u guys know if 33x12.5 inch tires would be too big on an Xterra with a 3 in. suspension lift? Would i need to get a Body lift or trim the wheel wells at all too?

I have 33x10.50 BFG MT's. Had to use the Sawzall to get them to work. Trimmed a good bit at the back of the front wheel wells. I have a little more to trim that I discovered in Moab.

Can you post a pic of your truck with the 33's on it? Thats what size I think I am going to bump up to this summer. Also do you have the bumpstop extensions installed? Or can you get away without having them?

I've got 33 x11.5's on mine

Minor trimming (plastic only) with the 3" SL and 3" BL

I have 285-75r16 on 16"X8" rockcrawler rims 5" backspacing.
I had to install the rear bumpstop extensions.
And trim sheet metal behind the front wheels, also move the steering stops all the way out as well. With stock rims you can avoid pretty much all of the sheetmetal trimming, just trim the plastic and install the bumpstop extensions.
Well worth it in my opinion.

I've got 33x12.50's on mine, with just a suspension lift, and some trimming. They work great.

Do u think there is a way to run 33's with out installing the bumpstop extension? I don't wanna loose any more flex then I have to. Body lift isn't a option in my book ethier.

Under full compression you'll be getting into the tops of the fenderwells.

You'll want a 2" body lift to go along with the SL and some significant trimming to have a full range of travel and steering and your 33x12.50's. Also, try to use a rim with at least 4" backspacing...that'll help clear the backs of the fenderwells at full steering lock.

What about with a 10.50's? Thats what I am looking at, I am hoping that is skinny enought that I can fully stuff it up in the rear wheel wells. I am not to concerned about the front thats alot easier to trim. Plus I will be running these on stock steelie's.

The 10.50 will tuck up nicely into the rear wheel well. I have to soften my rear leaf spring packs. I got a replacemment set, but they now are soo stiff that I really can't stuff too much. Very long story, but I think the 10.50's will work real well.

I have 33x12.5's on the stock rims...

The width is ok, you don't need skinnier.

laugh

If you add the bumpstop extensions you can keep the tires from hitting the tops of the wells, and yes, that limits the up travel.

I did a 2" BL, and it took care of that problem completely.

I also have a 3" SL, but, as you can imagine, a SL does NOTHING to change where the tire goes up to on compression (up travel)...so, I had to do the BL too.

The trimming I did for a previous set of 275/70/16's was plenty for the 33's (Didn't have to trim more)

The 2" BL is a few hours work, and doesn't require the radiator, A/C or other items to be relocated like the 3" does...it also frees up room under the truck for OBA, bigger spare, etc.

It also means I didn't need to extend the bumpstops...the wells were now further away by themselves.

laugh

I'd just do the 2" BL, its all you need to preserve articulation. It was about $150, 10 pucks w/new bolts/nuts etc...and the relocation stuff I didn't need (They put the 3" BL stuff in the 2" BL kit for some reason)

Me and a few freinds knocked it out in about 3 hours of wrenching....we did do pizza/beverages and it was raining.

laugh

Where can I get stickers like the ones on your front bumper?
