I'm kinda surprised nobody else has started a thread on this game yet.
Just picked up the game yesterday and am having a BLAST with it. I'm getting some crazy lag B.S. with it (where I adjust for the lag in guitar, hard coded drums but there's still CRAZY lag on the mic and drum fills) like a bunch of other people, but it's still a very entertaining game.
Santa drop off this little gem for anyone this year?

Conan O\'Brien plays Rock Band during the Writers\' Strike As for the drums... .they are really fun... but noisy.... I hear there have already been custom mods made out there to muffle the noise on the drums and to improve the sensitivity... Also... the drumsticks are actual wooden drumsticks... ROCK ON!

Had my buddies over for the weekend. Drinking, watching football, Rock Band, drinking, poker, drinking, Rock Band, more football. That was the weekend in a nutshell. This game is a helluva good time at get togethers.

Get some cheap foam mouse pads (Circa $1 each at Walmart) and cut them into circles and put em over the the drums - allot nicer to play and less harsh sounding.
Played at my friends place on Sunday. After the Cowboys game - most fun. Might have to pick it up myself when the stores start stocking it again. Seems this thing is as hard to find as a Wii.

We cut an ace bandage up and padded the end of the sticks and taped tehm on. Been doing this for over a month and the sensitivity is still great, and no noise hardly at all, making it enjoyable without cranking the surround to drown out the noise from the sticks.

170 bucks is a lot for a game...can you use the Guitar Hero III guitars for it, or do you have to get Rock Band gear to play it?

Some BS lawsuit (or thread of one) by Activision stopped Sony from distributing the patch from Harmonix to enable the guitar hero guitar's. It's like $150 or $160 at Costco - and my local Costco has 'em in stock even if they aren't on the Costco.com website.

The Rock band drums look exactly like the practice pads I have from my Drumset (cheaper, easier, and quiter than bring my drumset to college)... a Good way to muffle the pads is to take a couple of old T-shirts and use those to cover the pads - it shouldn't affect the sensitivity, but I don't know for sure.

Damn, well that sucks. I can't justify spending $150 bucks on a game that I'll only play at parties. LAME!
