IMO, absolutely! A generic code reader costs between $50 and $100, and all it can do is read the codes and reset the check-engine light! The SGII does so much more.
It allows you to enter correction factors for MPG and speed, so that it can more accurately calculate MPG, distance to empty, etc.
I like its ability to track the various sensors, such as coolant temp, voltage, MAP, throttle position, intake temp, too.
