has anyone had a problem with slippage while in 3rd gear? either when i'm braking or accelerating while in 3rd gear, it sometimes just pops out and goes into neutral. i have a lot of "play" with that gear - when it's engaged, it moves around a lot.

i hate to go in to get it fixed with such a vague problem. any help is appreciated.

thanks!

synchros basically are what eliminates double clutching. they allow the gear and the collar to make a smooth connection at the same speed before the dog teeth actually engage the gear. simply put your tranmission needs to looked at by a good mechanic and parts will more than likely have to be replaced. hope this helps.

since your in Colorado Springs try Academy Nissan first for a diagnosis then once you know what parts you need find a shop to do the work for you. firestone at rangewood and woodmen does good work not sure if they do transmissions but give them a call anyway!!!
