Would anyone happen to know the wiring schematic for the 05 Xterra rear view mirror 50 Genk-5 with compass only? I have the 50 Genk-21 with temp along with the schematics but I know the plugs are different as well as the color coding, I need to know the OEM coding to match with the new one. I have searched the forums and other sites but have been unsuccessful. Dealer was no help either.

Yes I did, But it does not help as I believe he had no power to the mirror at all just a basic rear view. He had to add a universal harness to get the new mirror to work. The mirror I currently have is just the auto dim and compass 3 wires, 2 go into the plug and 1 thick one which is attached to the mirror mount, I believe this is the ground? Today I spliced the 2 and 1 was copper assuming it is power and the other silver assuming it is ground. I attached them to the new mirror and it works only the numbers are a bit dim, maybe because I did not soder them as I just wanted to try and power it up to see what wires were for what.

The GENK5 and GENK21 use the same wireharness and adapter that plugs into the mirror. The GENK5 uses a 7-pin adapter with only 2 wires in pin numbers 1 and 2 for power...The GENK21 uses the same 7-pin harness with the same 2 wires for power in locations 1 and 2, but also uses a temperature probe that plugs into spots 6 and 7.

I just replaced my factory autodimming mirror (GENK5) on my 05 OR edition with the GENK21. The only thing I had to do was run the temperature probe through the firewall and plug the 2 pins into the existing harness and plug that harness into the back of the new mirror...PIECE OF CAKE!

Unless I am mistaken, my new mirror which I looked up under Mito Corp a distributor for Gentex ID's my mirror as a Genk21. The plug in the back has 14 pins with 5 wires, Blk, Yel, Grn, Grn/Blk, Grey. I took the Yel for power and spliced it into the original harness for pin #1 and Blk for pin #2 I believe the Grey and Grn/Blk is for the temp sensor. Once I get it installed I will cut off the original plug and just use the one which came with the new mirror. By the way this is a used mirror which came off a 2004 Saturn for $30.00
