I was just wondering if anyone has fabricated their own sliders. I really like shrockworks' sliders but those are over $300. I don't know whether to make my own or just buy from shrockworks.

I would love to see close ups of how the plating was set against the frame as well. the frame wall thickness is only about 60 thousands so it is a lightweight frame. the structural rectangle and supports make it real stiff, but I want to see how it has been done already.

I live in North Co and have a guy in O'side that I might ask to help me fab a set as well. Got an east Co. hook up as well.

was the old X frame material as thin?

There have been people make their own. If you can weld it wouldn't be all that hard, but I bet in the end it would be cheaper to just buy them. Unless your time is free. smile

It's a time thing. A shop with the jigs/templates and the experience can rip though a set in no time flat. But a hobbyist is going to take 10 times longer. Not to mention twice the steel.
