Will 35" Tires fit 2005 with 3" BL

Hi all!
First let me say that this is a great site. So much helpful information. However, I searched the forums and could not really find 2005 Xterra specific info regarding my question, mostly topics on 1st gen X's.
Now for the question...
I have a 2005 SE 2wd. Pretty much gonna be a mall crawler. I just purchased a 3" BL but have not yet installed it. I was just wondering if I could fit 35" tires when the BL is installed. I realize that my MPG will drop, but since its my weekend car, it doesnt really matter to me. Will I have any major problems? Thanks in advance for any help you all can provide.

Welcome! 35's on a 2wd mall crawler...sigh. Well, 32's are a stock size....and if you are not off roading, you probably won't be stuffing the tires into the wells on compression...and, a BL is the best protection against compression rub as it is...so the 35's will stick out about 1.5" more than 32's would...pretty sure that's doable as you are lifting 3". Lifting doesn't do as much for inside the well hits at full lock...so the extra 1.5" swinging in an arc may come close/hit the well liner. As not many people have tried 35's on a next gen X...you're best bet is to head over to the tire shop, and see if they'll let you test mount a set....do some circles in the P. Lot, and see what's what. The turn stops are adjustable, so if its not too bad of a hit, you can adjust it so it won't hit, etc. People have also used a blowdryer to reshape the well liners to allow fatter tires as well. Also, the section width will play a role as well, as in a 12.5" SW will be more likely to rub than a 10.5" SW, etc....as you don't off road, wheel spacers can also get you some extra clearance in that regard... Take pics, post them, and add yourself to the pioneers of the next generation.

I doubt they will fit. Measure your rear wheel wells.

I think the rear wells are ~36" across.

That does look sweet. I mean, except for the mall crawler running board things...and no remaining uptravel. But I like it. Go figure.
