I run 265/75/16 BFG AT Ko's and will rub slightly only if you are trying to cut really sharp (like doing a Uueee).
I got about 104,000 miles on my first set and just bought a second set two weeks ago. This has been an excellent tire.
I bought a 5 year wheel alignment package with my first set (well worth it). I have never got more than about 40-45000 miles on any other tire I have ever bought.

The 2002-2004 X's can fit up to 32's w/o a lift (The Lift to fit larger tires on an X is a Body Lift btw...).

You simply snip off the plastic ledge the front mud flaps used to screw to, to avoid the rub on turns mentioned above.

Its soft plastic, and takes ~ 5 minutes.

If we knew your rim size, it would be easier to recommend a tire size.

With 15" rims, a 32 x 11.5/15

If 16" a 265/75/16

etc.

The BFG AT ko's are an excellent choice as well...as already mentioned.

On my '03/SE, I too run with BFG AT/KO's in 265/75R16's. No rubbing at all. Just put them on about a year ago. EXCELLENT tire, as mentioned. Good grip and long wearing (from what I've read). I run mine with 40psi.
