Does anyone know of a place to get a ceiling console? I'm not looking for anything large, just enough to hold my shades and my garage door opener. I thought of Velcro'ing that stuff to the ceiling, but want to keep it out of sight.

JC Whitney's auto parts online... I could've
swarn I saw storage unit of some sort
for the ceiling inside your vehicle... I
don't know, however, if it's made specifcally
for our X's... Good Luck!

Something like this?

http://www.shelfit.com

Doesn't look like they have a model for the Xterra, but the 86-97 Pathfinder/pickup model might fit???

These shelves are great. Had one in the last 2 vehicles I've owned. Great place to put your gun if you carry.

FYI, I measured the distance between the outermost visor screws on a '92 Pathfinder, it's 44". Don't have an X handy to compare, but it's a start.

I wouldn't go offoad with stuff in that thing unless you want to get hit in the head by falling CD cases and such!

Come to think of it, my view would be blocked too. I already look through the very top of the windshield when I drive.

It would be nice to have a closeable storage thing in the center of the ceiling though.

I've thought about it, and it would be great to have my CB mounted on the roof in a console (talked about that with Synchro just a week ago). I'll let you know what I come up with ...

I got one of those from Whitney's and had it in my Ford Ranger. It's the last place I'd put a gun or even a loose flashlight. Stuff like that HURTS when it rolls off while you're driving. And I found that I kept smacking my head on it when getting in and out. It also cut visibility, at least in the Ford, so I ended up ripping it out again.

I like the one tuffy products sells for the jeep, if only they made one for an X-terra.

email or call em. no products get made if there is no demand. call them on the phone and ask them what they have planned for the Xterra, if nothing, then why not. let them know that this is a common question and if someone could solve it, they stand to make some money, which is what they most likely care about. with their good products they would make a great addition to the X aftermarket players.
