Any of you geeks out there play OGame? I just got involved this week and have been seriously sucked in. Of course the fact that XOC was offline also helped the new addiction. My small fleet is currently farming a nearby inactive planet

I saw my little cousin playing this. They are here visiting from Austria, and he begged to use my internet. The name Ogame sounds familiar.....not sure though. I'll check it out.

For a text based online strategy game it's actually pretty addictive. I joined an alliance with a few guys at work. I understand why he wants to play, if he's on vacation he is probably worried about his fleet.

im pretty lost as to how to do this... in understand metal mine san dsolar power at first but i just dont understand resources and stuff like that.

also its just acase of wait for more metal right? im sitting twiddling my thumbs becaus ei dont have enough metal to build another metal mine

I'm in Universe 1 Galaxy 1. Already a member of an existing alliance. 'Bleeding' we'er quite a friendly alliance, not at war with anyone. If XOC gets a few members then I'd deffinately join, or see if our alliances can form an agreement not to attack eachother etc. What universe are you in?

I'm already hooked. It helps that it's about the only thing my 2 employees talk about all day! Luckily I didn't have to wait to long when I started out as a friend send me a bunch of resources. I can't really spare any tho to send on

If you guys are working on creating an XOC alliance you all gotta be in the same universe. Otherwise you can't help eachother out. Different universes are like whole different games. You can't fly from 1 Universe to another, only between Galaxys in the same Universe.

I in universe 6, just started playing so no one come after me yet.

Just had my first couple of battles in Universe1. Won 1 and drew another. Good tip - Build espionage probes as soon as you can and probe any planets near you that are inactive. They list with an (i) on the galaxy map. There is one near me that used to be a top player, until someone wiped him out. But he still has his mines cranking out some serious resources, so I send my cargo ships back and forward to rape his planet

Logged in to find that some bastard attacked my weak ass, overnight and raped my supplies.

Damn that sucks. I think I might have to fire up a player in Uni 8 and join you guys. Then I really will be playing every waking moment! lol. I already have 2 planets in Uni 1 after only playing for 1 week. The nice members of the alliance I joined sent me a bunch of resources.

I'm just lost what order to build stuff in... plus getting raped for resources doesn't make it easy to build

startup advice wherever you are, go with the ogame forum,
build order similar to
power,
metal,
metal,
power,
metal,
metal,
power
basically get metal up to about level 5 with enough power before building anything else, then go for crystal. continue with a gap of about 4 until level 14 metal - 12 crystal, then build a few duet mines.
eventually you start your reseach which you can see how to get what ships/buildings by viewing the technology tag on the side

oh i screwed it up completely... so no worries...

but now im trying to get back on trck building metal and crystal and power...

power is the key, it seems... i am always running out of power

Yeaa, gotta almost plan on 1 level of power for each level of mines. On my planet in Uni 1 I have:

Level 15 Metal
Level 12 Crystal
Level 13 Deut
Level 16 Solar

Plus I have a couple of solar satelites up and a level 3 Fusion plant and I'm still in the negative on energy. -189/1.712

Cost to upgrade the solar plant to level 17 - Requires: Metal:49.263 Crystal:19.705. Yeoouch.
