I wouldn't be able to do it for at least a couple of months. Right now, I'm just trying to gauge interest.

Just so you guys know I met this guy the other day (unlocked a car at his house)and his Vehicross is supercharged csutom done by him and some friends. This is the one that ran 14's on the bottle. I saw one of the kits they were working on and looked pretty good. If I had my X still i would try it.

I wouldn't do it. Of course, I'm a hypocriyte cause I drive an 02 SC.

For me, it would be really tough to do $2K on it... versus trading up for a newer model. 2004's are right around the corner... and 03's and up come with better fuel systems, exhaust, and stereos... and the 02's are getting cheap! (if you can still find one) $2K is a good downpayment!

At the same time, I love seeing new performance development for the X... so I hope there is enough demand to continue it...

Yes, but many people here like myself have put over $10K into modifications already and have our trucks at least halfway paid for. Trading to a new one would mean starting all over. Sure, if I had a new '03 with no mods then it would probably make more sense to trade, but I'm at the point now where I'm in it for the long haul. Besides, a "classic" Xterra with a supercharger would be quite rare! laugh

Amen, aside from that the x gets more and more "pussified" every year... first 16" wheels, then the incorrectly placed parking brake and ruined front end, then the leather option(al be it they tried to offset it with 10hp) who wants to place bets on what year will see the loss of the first aid kit? or the Navigation/DVD entertainment system as an option?

I have to agree with that. You can't get an '03 with a manual. You get more power with this kit.

Trading up from my '00 with 60k miles to an '02 or '03 would cost me closer to $15k than $3k. Plus, the '02-'03 front end looks pretty wussified in most colors.

Finally, I don't want to have to start over with my modifications.

Trade in my Xterra???? eek

Never! I'd rather die before I trade in my X.

Shame on you for even mentioning it.

Trade for an X with more of the features you want - not get rid of the X. :p I wouldn't get rid of the X. I like mine too much. Even in it's present too-whimpy-for-true-offroad-stock condition.

I'm just sayin that some things are easier to trade in for, like if i wanted to go with a 4x4, I would be insane to try and add it on vs trading in...

as far as getting whimpier goes... what has substantially changed on the newer X's that makes them whimpier? Yeah, I see cosmetics.. but isn't it the same truck underneath?

I know he's gone, but I have to answer it anyway. It's the same tranny in the '00-'03 - both auto and manual.

If anyone has done this, let us know. I'd like to, but am currently scraping together the money.

Any new info? I want to do this if there are positive feedbacks from the X community.
