Been looking for one of these for a few months, so I bought this today. This is about as cheap as I've seen.
Got mine delivered last night. Thanks for the heads-up.

Well ... how long ago did you order it? Did you contact them since? How did you pay?

Only 2 weeks ago? Ok, nothing to panic about. I'm ordering mine in the morning.

I have called them a couple of times and they were very nice on the phone and from talking to them the list seems to be the problem. They are now selling as many kits as they can get and the wait is a bit longer since the price was posted here. According to Steve at the Hopup Racing mine is about a week late shipping but was shipped out two days ago and I should be getting it tomorrow. I have never had much of a problem getting in touch with them, other than the line being busy or being put on hold for a bit because they were with another customer.

I received mine, but not without drama. It was supposed to be delivered by Fedex the Friday before Labor Day weekend (16 days after ordering - I think patience is the name of the game with Hopup), the Fedex driver reported that I wasn't at home for delivery. The same Tues-Thurs the following week. I was home on all of these days - the Fedex driver has since been fired. A full week after first delivery attempt, I received it.

Installation was a breeze - I thank my lucky stars for buying ratchet wrenches (with flex head) a couple of weeks ago. Without them, I'm convinced that the rear fender resonator bolt would never have come off. The only problem with install is that the vacuum line is a little tight - I plan to get a longer hose. There is flow, but a tiny kink at the turn from the Volant prevents total comfort on my part. Air temp sensor didn't fit completely snug in the gasket provided by Volant, but a bit of electrical tape beefed the sensor enough to make a tight fit. The collar between the throttle body and intake tube required heating to fit onto the intake - a couple of go-rounds with my trusty Dunhill fixed this, so it wasn't a big deal.

Performance improvement, in my opinion, is significant. There's a long hill from my house that previously forced me to downshift, the X now comfortably pulls the hill in 5th gear. Acceleration now has immediate results. I'm looking forward to seeing whether gas mileage has improved, as well as reports from other X owners who have installed the Volant.

Cheers!

Mine arived today as Hopup said it would, but after a week and a half of waiting for it to come in to Hopup. Will install Friday and let the list know how thing work out, but I expect that it will be an improvement like others have reported.

ok apparently the issues with shipping is because volant is backordered and taking forever to get the intakes out to hop-up racing. if you have been waiting for over 2 weeks call hop up racing and they will upgrade your shipping to 2-day air.

Got mine in today and it seem to be an improvement over what I had before. The air temp sensor was not tight and instead of using tape, I just used the old rubber from my old intake along with a bit of silicone to keep it snug. It seems odd that the silicone hose that they supplied fit my Xterra side just fine, but was too tight for the pipe they supplied and required heat to get it on. I also have two parts left over and would appreciate any help as to where they go. I have a small "O" ring and a large vacuum connection that I have no idea where they go, other than that all is good.

Mine came this afternoon. 15 days after I ordered it. I just finished installing it.

A couple of things I noticed;

1. The install was much easier then I though it would be from what I have read in this thread. Getting the silicone hose over the intake tube was a breeze. The whole install took about 40 minutes.

2. The air box didn't fit very well. I was wondering if it was made to fit a 2003. The holes in the bottom of the air box did not line up with the holes in the fender. I used some 3/4" spacers between the air box and the fender to get the indentation in the air box to accommodate the tubing to the left of the radiator. That allow me to position it so the holes lined up. Has any who has installed one of these on a 2003 notice this?

I can feel a difference and I like the sound. I have a Gibson exhaust coming. I can't wait to see the combination working together.

The O ring was a mystery to me too, and meant to ask the same question, but forgot.

My guess is that the large vacuum connector is an "either/or" - since the small one fit the hose, thats the one I used.

I too used spacers, though they're only about 1/2" (rubber washers from shock replacement), though initially I bolted down straight to the fender - the lines from the radiator do flex a bit.

Well I called Volant and they told me that the "O" ring was a replacement just in case you messed up the one on the Temp Sensor and the vacuum connector is for the pickup which uses the same kit as the Xterra. They also told me that due to casting specifications and other issues, some of the tubes fit perfectly and some others need a bit of heat to make them fit. Mine works great and with the Flowmaster 40 has turned my Xterra into a completely different SUV.

Sorry, I ment to say Mass Air Sensor for the "O" ring instead of Temp Sensor!

7 weeks.... this is the worst online service i've ever had to endure. at this point it is either keep praying and wait or cancel the order, spend an extra 50 bucks at a reputable retailer, and wait another week.

anyone else still waiting for theirs?
