What happened to "Fair Play"? Just when I was starting to admire Zidane I lost all respect. An athlete taunt of an opponent is as regular as a cup of coffee in the morning. Instead of taking it like a man he acted like he was 8 years old. The only children on the field were the escorts, he should've left with them before the game started.

The headbutt was hard, and he should have gotten the red card and ejection like he did. But let's get real. Materazzi should be up for a fucking Academy Award. Dude flopped harder than Brad Pitt at the beginning of Meet Joe Black. He acted like Zidane hit him point blank in the chest with a goddamn rocket launcher for chrissakes.

It was a cheap shot, and he got the fair penalty. It's a shameful way to end his career. But people need to stop acting like Zidane was trying to kill him. :rolleyes:

Ok...so I'm a soccer fan and watched most of the World Cup games. I was extremely disappointed with what I saw from a lot of the teams. The game I loved as a kid growing up in Romania has turned from a sport into fucking amateur acting hour (ok..two hours, worse yet).

However, even though I have every reason to suspect that Materazzi flopped, in this one case, I really don't think he did. You and I might not be able to hit someone very hard with our heads, but trust me , professional soccer players CAN. Add to this the fact that Materazzi was taken by complete surprise, and I just don't see a flop this time.

The moron deserved the red card. FIFA should have awarded him the 'golden head' instead of the 'golden ball.'

Materazzi flopped. I know soccer players have hard heads an' all but damn there is no way it could have made him leave his feet. It looked like he was blown away.....

A little late into the conversation, but I was in Rome at the Circus Maximus with 150,000 Italians during this game and you should have seen them go nuts when it happened.. And then you should have seen how nuts they went when they won.. Amazing experience.
