So I was looking through pictures of X's and stumbled upon a picture of one that had flush-mounted lights built into the plastic pieces to either side of the rear bumper. Here's the pic that I'm talking about. Does anyone know where I can find lights like that? I think it's a fantastic idea! I've checked Canadian Tire, Princess Auto, and various online trailer-supply companies but I can't seem to find flood-light style press-ins for rubber grommets. Let me know if you have any ideas about where I can get some. Thanks

I seem to recall that pic, although I can't view it from your link either. But IIRC, they were mounted inside the plastic piece on each end of the bumper with just the business end poking through, not pressed in. They looked really sharp, but I think the aim may have been a bit of an issue. Doable, but it would take a bit to get them right. But they do look sharp if done right!

In any event, fix your pic to make sure these are what I remember. Otherwise, it will be hard to understand what your referring to for certain.

I think this is what you're looking at...

This is my truck. I used 4" grommets with the replacement sealed beams (available in spot or flood) for those rubber housing tractor lights. The grommet sticks out about 1/2" & you just tip the sealded beam in the grommet to get the alignment you need.

Hope this helped out.

Jeff!

This is exactly what I was looking at. Where did you find the lights? I've only been able to find red ones or back-up lamps. Do you know if there's an online store that would supply them? Thank you so much! smile

Clean install... inside the bumper would be a better choice for me. I tend to treat the bumperetts as dispoable, and mine look the part. When the trail gets tight enough, something has to get sacrificed and plastic is the cheapest to replace.
