I changed my alternator because I previously tested it and results came back bad. A couple of days ago I purchased a brand new battery as well. Before I changed my alternator today I was trying to start it and my ignition fuse went out so I replaced that as well. After all the repairs were done I drove it to my in laws house which is about 17 miles away and everything seemed fine. I get home and try to start my xterra and it will not start. It then goes on to blow the ignition fuse again... I am clueless here and have no thoughts on what it could be.

The alternator was purchased at a salvage yard and they claimed it had under 40,000 miles on it.

While my key is in the ignition and in the on position I hear a higher pitched noise that just does not seem like its suppose to make that. I get under the vehicle and it sounds like it is either coming from the starter or alternator.

Would a bad starter cause this problem?
