these are some seriously well designed lights. Great construction, a cast rear end, hex bolt on front retainer ring, and thumb screw adjustable aiming, some of the smoothest action I have seen. Came with a premium wiring harness. looks good. Not expecting them to have such a different mounting system, my original light tabs weren't going to work, so I rigged a new one up from some 1.5" aluminum bar stock, and bolted that to the existing light tabs. worked out great. These are some big lights! Now I just need to figure out where to run the wires. Matt

Looks nice... You'll have to let me know how well they work after you wire them up.

gonna fix the angle agains the roof, to closer match the X roofline, but not the overhang. I like the overhang, as it holds a sh!tload more than anything else. form follows function... well, in some circles...

again, in the eye of the beholder. If you don't like it, that's your opinion. It grows on you, it's functional, and it's different. Why does it matter? I designed it, and granted, it's not EXACTLY as I designed it, it's close. and I can get it realigned with the roofline as that is the only complaint anyone seems to have... well, other than that it hangs over the front, which I DO like. it's wasted space. And I don't see it from inside the vehicle, so why should I care what people think, I bought a yellow Xterra for Chris'sake!

Stormy and I installed the wiring harness and interior switch, we hooked the lights up to the high beams, and routed the wiring under the weatherseal on the passenger side front a pillar. worked really well. We attached the circuit to the mount for the computer, and the rest of the wires were sleeved, so they were easy to wrap up. Nice wiring kit, came with everything but patience and a drill.
Hooked the battery back up and they worked. First try.
Not too bad.

That rack must be pretty noisy on the freeway!
my vote, (not that it matters) is that its pretty ugly, but I bet it holds a bunch of stuff!

it WAS noisy, but I fixed that the other day. all it needed was better isolation from the Xterra. a set of Heavy Duty truck mudflaps were used to make better rubber strips to go between the rack base and the X, now it's quiet AND holds lots of stuff. It's to the point where I love the look on the X. I guess if people can love ugly babies, then that explains it.

Matt wrote: I guess if people can love ugly babies, then that explains it. Hmm, might want to be careful what you post Matt, it seems like some people (won't mention names) might use the recent events in your life to rag on you for that statement.... However, just My $.02...I rather like the looks of the rack (makes it unique) and it is very functional (which is just as important as the look). If I didn't have other plans for the roof of my X, I'd probably alter mine simarly as well
