Has anyone tried adding a set of fog lamps to the factory fog lamp set up? Will the circuit handle the extra load of the additonal lights or should I wire up a seperate one?

You want both fogs to come on at the same time ? Swap the stock fogs with piaa's, one good light will beat 2 cheap. In any case, wire a seperate line if that's where you want to go.

I replaced the stock bulbs with PIAA's from www.xterraparts.com and am more than satisfied ...

They work great and do exactly what they're supposed to do, a rarity in this world today ...

replace the stock fogs with the PIAA 1500s. They fit directly into the original housing and work a hundred times better that the stock. You will not be disappointed

I installed the PIAA 1500Xt's using the factory harness. I love them. They are soo bright. It gets even more brighter when i have the 520's on also.

I have question for those of you who switched to PIAA 1500 bulbs, do the fog lights outshine the low beams?

Just Curious

there is some over lap with the 1500s. I went with a yellow beam, though clear/white is avilable. I can see the yellow between the bottom of the low beam and the bottom of the X. But the main difference is to the sides. The provide a great improvement to the visibility of the sides of the vehicle. Also, signs and other reflectors standout more with them. You can see the yellow beam on people and signs as you drive by. You could drive with only these, but don't. Its illegal and they are fog lights, designed not to shine that far down the road. I added better headlights, (super ****e zenon bulbs with the same wattage so they won't burn the wire harness) and added PIAA 520s for the ultimate light package.

The light from the 1500's are more intense than the stock low beams and thus appear brighter. Their range, on the other hand, does not equal to that of the low beams. Just as Viper stated, the side visibility is vastly improved. I believe that the 1500's perfectly complement the low beams.

As a side note, I have the PIAA 80 pro XT and they alone outshine the 1500's and high beams together.
