I could not bring myself to purchase the recycled 8-track player they used to encase the first one. The new version, however, looks like a winner.

I was thinking about this earlier today and looked it up and saw that they had a new model! I was going to post to this thread about the new model. I definitely want one now!

Just ordered a SG2! (I have the SE with trip computer - but one can never have enough gauges ) BUT... What I would really like to know is where can I find one of those nice little devices showing your level side to side and front to back... as XPLORx4 had in the pic in the middle of these posts... Please can anyone suggest where I can find that - is there one with a compass? Thanks

I called the company president and I got one shipped out to me at Moab last week.
I played with it on the 20 hour drive home from Moab. I really like the miles to empty reading. It not only looks better than the original, it is a smaller form factor.
Another feature it has that X'ers will be interested in. If you change your wheel size, the scan gauge lets you adjust the speed reading on the gauge (not the Xterra). It gives you the formula to do the adjustment if your speedo was correct before the tire change.
It looks like the stock 2005 Xterra Offroad computer is using the base model (smaller) wheel size, because on my trip to Moab the mileage and speed was slightly less than my GPS which was powered on all the time.
Using my GPS I was able figure out how to adjust the ScanGauge 2 speed to correctly show the MPH. I think it was off by 2% or something, I will have to check.
Great little device, I am glad I got it.

Great little device, I am glad I got it. You were able to change the mph on the first one too. Mine was off some where around 3% when I changed from the 265/75R16's to the 285/75R16's. I have not ordered my series 2 SG yet, but I will be. The old one is going in the Jeep.

I think I may pick one up soon...anyone know if it will clear/stop the airbag light and seatbelt light from blinking?? Ever since I installed my CB the both of those have been blinking away and disconncting little sensor under the drivers seat didn't make any difference to the seatbelt light....

In case anyone was interested in the USB interface module here is what they said. Great response! I think I may pull the trigger soon!
"The interface is a unit with memory and processing power itself. It has a cable that plugs into the unused connector on the ScanGaugeII and another that plugs into a USB port on a computer. They don't have to both be plugged in at the same time. The interface will use SD Cards for data storage. You can plug it inot the ScanGauge for logging and for other upload/download tasks. It can be removed from the vehicle and taken to a computer for data transfers. The ScanGaugeII has all the hardware needed for the interface, but will need an upgrade of its program to use it. The Upgrade is free when you purchase the interface. Price has not been finalized yet. It is expected to be under $100. This will also include the software for a windows based computer."

There is a post somewhere about this. It is a known issue with an easy fix. Quite a lot of people had this problem when installing their car stereo's. You should be able to find an answer with a search.

No, the ScanGauge won't reset that light.
You sure you tried this particular procedure? The one with the stopwatch is harder, but this one works like a charm.
1. Put key in. Turn the key to ON possition watch the airbag light turn on solid (not blinking). 2. As soon as it starts blinking turn key off within one second. 3. Take key out 4. Repeat steps 1 -3 three more times 5. On your fourth time turn the key and the light will go on and turn off , for good within a few seconds.

Yeah I'm planning on ordering the new one now that it's been upgraded. Question though for those that have gotten yours are there any options the device can't monitor. I noticed on their site some options are not available but non of them really applied directly to the X. Just wanted to double check though.
Thanks.

Nissan PCM's support all of the gauges that the Scan-Gauge II can display. In other words, if the Scan-Gauge II supports it, it will show up when you connect it to your X. (The first-gen Scan Gauge could display fuel pressure, which very few vehicles, including Nissans, supported; as you can see, that gauge is no longer available.)

Hi I just received my ScanGauge 11 today it works and looks great , I did have to buy some more Velcro as I forgot to clean off my greased plastic ( Armor All) thus the supplied Velcro would not stick. I'm not good with pictures but I already love this new toy . You can match the back light color exactly to the stock gauge colour thus it looks original .
