I've been searching throught the board for rear bumpers..

The two legit ones I've found are the calmini and skid row.

Did I miss any others?

I think those are the only two currently available. FWIW, both are excellent bumpers, but the Calmini is limited to just tire carrying duty. If I were buying I'd go with the Skid Row for the options and because I like their latching mechanism much better than the Calmini. With either one, I'd be sure to buy the frame stiffeners from Skid Row.

KMA is another, but I've heard nothing but nightmare stories.

Or you can go custom like this one. It's from a Jeep and adapted to fit the frame rails of the X.

Yeah, KMA can make one, but it will take 6 months to get it and when it arrives it will be all crooked, rusty, and be painted with house paint by a Monkey.

But, if you spend another $400 and many, many hours of labor your KMA can turn out pretty nice like this one! laugh

If you mean the Jeep one, that's mine actually.

I bought it off eBay for about $125 and spent another hundred having brackets made for it. It's definitely not as refined looking as the Calmini and SR ones (nor quite as strong in my opinion), but it gets the job done and gives me more than enough extra departure angle.

It started as an experiment to see how it would turn out. If I hated it, I figured I'd sell it, but it's okay, so I'll leave it on.

Here's one more with the carrier removed for a trip (needed easier access to the back so I threw the tire on the roof).

Johnny X---Could you please show me more pics or close ups of the Jeep-bumper-modified-for-a-Xterra setup? I have always thought of doing this, but didn't know what was all involved to make it work. I was afraid that I would have to notch out part of the hatch for it to raise past the hinge bolt. But I like what you did. smile

Sure thing. I still want to get it powdercoated as it's a rustoleum black in it's current state.

I originally wanted the ends to tuck in under the plastic corner pieces, but the bumper would have been too close to have the hatch clear the hinge and latch. Turns out I've bumped those corners gently and the bumper itself absorbed the "contact" instead of smashing in the plastic. laugh
