Yeah, that's understandable. I believe the average wait is around 6 to 8 weeks though. I know Jim has been fairly busy lately, but maybe you could call him and see if he can do a rush job for you. He is real easy to talk to. It might be worth a shot.

Hmm, slim chance you'll get anything from Jim in 4 weeks.
I waited close to 5 months for my rear bumper and skids. Close to 4 months for my front bumper and about 2 months for my sliders.

Yeah, I dont have any stuff from him yet but it now looks like he is supplying armor for every Nissan offroad vehicle in the U.S. and A. now (I just saw Borat). Not to mention some Jeeps, zukis and yotas. That's enough to keep him a bit busy. In fact, since he is a very small fab opperation, and the huge volume of orders he is getting right now, I find that turn around time to be quite extraordinary. 4 weeks? I saw nice job Jim

Hm, I took economics back in college, and it seemed that it was at about this point when the supplier would seek additional capital to increase quantity supplied, as demand seems to warrant it.
Three things would likely happen in this case, a) as more parts hit the market, more potential profit could be realized, b) as more material was needed from the suppliers supplier, bulk prices could be more easily negotiated, and c) those cost savings could be passed on to the end customer.
The net effect would be a higher number of lower cost parts (of equal quality) which would turn otherwise casual interest in the consumer (4x4) market into enthusiastic interest as the part would now be more accessible and financially attainable - further increasing net profit for the supplier through increased demand..
But numbers on paper always look better than real numbers in action. I would be interested to see the size of his operation though, and the cost he incurs per bumper (or part) as he has to deal wit the cost of materials, 4 weeks of labor (or just 4 weeks of waiting which basically equals rent if no other capital expense is thrown at it), and shipping before finally getting a profit. If he's taking the money up front, that to me would further undermine his profit margin as he's not able to dynamically streamline the cost process (say one of his wielders quits, or a steel supplier raises the price of bulk steel after a sale..).

You might be confused with JOSH no longer being at SLR. Shrock did expand, and hire more people, etc...and is chopping the delivery times down a bit at a time as he gets more and more producton ramped up. I do find he answers phone calls to the shop (literally), but is slow on e-mail...as the shop has a phone, but he doesn't log on for messeges online too often (months with R in them?). If Shrock says about 4 weeks, that's probably the current time frame. Luckily, if that will slide into the future....at least he'll let you know.

I recently purchased a Shrock bumper. Jim said it would be 3 to 4 weeks, but it was closer to 8 or 9.
YMMV.

I ordered my new front bumper on 11-15 and he told me it was gonna be about 5 weeks. I think it will be worth the wait but I HATE driving around a wrecked vehicle until then.

In the reality of it all that is not that bad of a wait for a product that blows away all others. Christ I waited patently for sliders of an other company for 20 weeks before canceling. Jim won't slouch on quality for a schedule

It depends on the weight.
My sliders shipped Fedex as well as my skid plates and rear bumper. My front bumper how ever came freight via Dominion Freight.

I ordered my Calmini bumper from xterraparts.com about 3 1/2 years ago....ordered on friday and it was delivered by freight on monday. Sliders took a whole 5 days. It just depends if the product is sitting there on a shelf ready to ship. The hot vendor seems to be Shrocks, but i've yet to have an issue from my Calmini products (bumper, sliders, steering system). Like others have said, just play the waiting game. I almost waited a week for my 3" suspension lift.....almost.

well since you guys are talking about waiting for shrock front bumpers. I ordered mine on September 7th. I left the country on September 9th (and made the mistake of telling Jim he didnt need to rush to make it because i wouldnt be back untill mid November). I went to his shop on November 12th, and he told me that it would be another 2 weeks. It should be ready by Monday or Tuesday. Thats 2 months and 19 days. Is that the record or what?? Im not complaining at all, I love jim's work and am glad that i get to visit his shop personally to make orders. I just thought i should tell you guys so you didnt feel liek you were the only ones waiting... even us locals have to wait!

yeah i just got my bumper in on monday nov 11th. exactly 2 months after i ordered it. he kept putting it off for me too. dont believe anything he says cuz he lies a lot. he promised me i would have had in like 2 weeks before i actually got it but once again he lied to me. i aint gonna order anything else from him b/c i got my bumper and on the top bar some of the black powdercoat was chipped off (not just a little bit.. almost half the bar) and i am NOT sending it back cuz i aint waiting that long anymore. im through with them. i got my bumper finally and they are NEVER getting it back.
i know hes a small company but still... if it was going to be 2 months he should have told me that in the first place.

I have Jim's sliders and expect to get some more items from him in the very near future. Damaged product is the liability of the shipper and should have been noted on the waybill before accepting it. Insurance? Once it is out of Jim's hands, can you really hold him responsible for what a trucker or delivery person does to it? Sure my sliders came a little damaged, but geez, you should see them now. I'm very happy that they took the abuse and left my X unscathed, except for the pinstriping and a dented in rear bumper corner. Looks like the Kiss in MOAB next year will not be a worry. PS. Is the diff cover for the OR's ready to order or Preorder? If so I'm in for a complete skid package. I have to get busy and order soon before the rate hike.

Tell ya what...send me your bumper, i'll pay to have it re-powdercoated, and I'll put it on my X. Then, you can wait on Calmini to make and send you a bumper...Jim didn't lie to you, fuck tard, he answered your questions as best he could with the information he had available, when circumstances beyond his control change it's not his fault.

To be honest, if that is the additude you are going to take, I doubt many companies will want you as a customer. Quality takes time. As for the powdercoating, sorry to hear that, now go beat it off rocks so the rest of it looks the same.

Are you fucking kidding me? Your bumper gets buggered in shipping, Jim goes to the mat, stands up after all of your shit and eats the cost of the bumper plus all of his time and you're all, "whatever I don't care 'cuz it's free."
You're an ass. Go choke on your bumper.

I think the short one meant he doesn't care what others say, because he got a free bumper...kind of the opposite of how you took it. I think he's saying that BECAUSE Jim took care of it with a free bumper, that anything the OTHERS might say bad, doesn't matter to him, as for HIM, Jim took care of it.

What a fuck'n douche bag you are shortbus. Everyone else on this board loves Jim and Shrock for all the good products they make and the extraordinary customer service he provides. All the while wishing they had enough cash to purchase some of his products. You get a chip in your bumper, (which your probably going to get worse if you actually use the thing for what it is intended), act like a bitch about it, get the thing free, and still act like a bitch. I hope karma comes back with a giant shit sandwich for you buddy. Enjoy it EDIT: OMG, I just checked your profile and your a chick? You really are a bitch. Enjoy your bumper you cunt.

Now that Shortbus has had his ass ripped a new one and is hemoraging quite badly from the trauma, I thought i would play Devils Advocate on this one. I don't know Jim and have never bought anything personally with him, but if a customer buys a product and is told by Jim/Shrockworks that the bumper would be shipped in 4 weeks, then it is Jim/Shrockworks responsibility to notify Asshemorrage of the delay if it occurs and take means to appease the customer. As for the powdercoat chip, no other way to slice the cake on that one, that is just selfish gimmie attitude on the Shortbus meister part. Reedus
