Anyone know how it would work if there was trail damage? Does the driver eat the cost or can there be a claim if it's bad enough?

I saw the pic of the guy in Az who rolled and rolled down the hill and made me wonder.

An accident is an accident. That is part of the reason that premiums are higher for a 4X4. My insurance went up a whooping $50 every six months.

Ask your insurance company.
ToyMan rolled his X and insurance covered the $5k in damage.
Someone here recently posted that they sank their Xterra in a river (dredging had changed a shallow crossing to a truck-eating hole) and his insurance company totalled it and he's back on the road with a new X (or will be shortly) but he'll probably have rates go up a good bit.
I think that Toyota rollover you read about may be the same one I read about on the 4x4parts board:

Thanks for the input guys. Just wanted to make sure. We go out pretty heavy once a month and haven't had any problems, but you never know.
