hello all,

i was wondering what essential items i need for my xterra when off roading. i have the standard recovery equipment, tool kits, etc. but havent had too much experience wheeling with the xterra to know what to take. i have a '94 jeep as well and keep a whole assortment of crap in it but what xterra parts seem to break more often off road and such. any items or tips would be great. thanks.

If you still have the OE steering linkage you might want to bring a spare idler arm and tie rods. If you have an idler arm brace from one of the after market outfits then you can probably do without the spare idler arm. I've seen both these items break or bend on the trail and it's no fun if you don't have a spare. Also, though I've never seen it happen, some folks break their auto locking hubs.

Yeah, who'd want a live woman eating all of your beef jerky and scaring away the deer? [Smoking]
