Problem is, how do you change a tire if you are picking it up with the tire? wink

To be honest, not sure where you could use it without sliders or bumper.

Actually, that's not when I'd use it... or when I've used one with prior vehicles.

The issue here is sugar sand. Yes, it honestly is as white as sugar. It's as loose too, and if you screw up, you'll spin your tires and end up on your frame in half a second. Don't ask how I know. I've only had this happen with 2WD vehicles, fortunately.

Now your chassis is hard down on the ground, with no way to get the factory jack under it. Along comes the Hi-Lift jack to grab a bumper, hitch, or wheel, to get it up out the holes. The sand is pushed back into the craters, and with caution, you can then proceed once again.

On the trails, I use my factory jack and a block of wood (so the jack doesn't sink) to change a tire. wink

You need to host the picture some place and then just use the UBB Image tag to display the picture.

Here are some of the pictures that I promised. Sorry it took so long.
[img] [img]http://img231.imageshack.us/img231/7039/10002313gs.th.jpg[/img] [/IMG]
Here is the seats fully locked down with the jack underneath. No weird alignment or bulges and the seat cushions rest the way they're supposed to.

No interference for rear passengers' foot space.

[img] [img]http://img352.imageshack.us/img352/2141/10002329zp.th.jpg[/img] [/IMG]
"60" side up with jack pushed to the front on top of the release levers.

[img] [img]http://img352.imageshack.us/img352/6651/10002293ju.th.jpg[/img] [/IMG]
Other side up. When this cushion is down, it applies just enough pressure to hold this end of the jack in place without stressing or pushing up on the seat. The seat locks down nice and tight.

[img] [img]http://img395.imageshack.us/img395/8627/10002333bx.th.jpg[/img] [/IMG]
Here is the driver's side again where the top of the jack rests. When this cushion is down, the cushion applies enough pressure to the "lighter" side of the jack to prevent any swivel, forward, or side to side movement. Doesn't even rattle.

[img] [img]http://img217.imageshack.us/img217/6595/10002345ds.th.jpg[/img] [/IMG]
Here is a top view of that cushion down and how the top of the jack sticks out. You can shift it more to the passenger side so that it sticks out less, but the passenger cushion sits a little too tight on the runner of the jack and puts too much pressure on the underside of the seat. There is about 3/4" between the door and the top of the jack.

Here it is from the side. No stress on the cushion. Again, it seems to be just the right amount of pressure without stressing out the seat.

I tested the upward pressure on the clips that hold the seat cushions down just to see how much I could pull up on it and not have it let go. I used a piece of strapping and tied it to my fish scale. I wrapped the strapping under the seat cushions and out the sides really close to the clips. I got the scale to read about 35 lbs. and didn't want to go past that obviously because I didn't want to break it. I'd figure that theoretically, you could apply at least 70 lbs. of pressure along the entire length of the seat cushions at the clips. With the jack being at the pivot point of the seat cushions, you could probably say that it would need to apply a lot more pressure since it's at the losing end in terms of leverage. I feel confident that the seats will stay locked on a roll over. I think.. or hope. smile

I don't know if anyone else has done this, but I drilled 3/8" holes in the stock rear bumper and put a long bolt with 1 1/2" fender washers against the bumper, put a nut on that, slid the hi-lift onto the remaining stud portion of the bolt, then finished it off with a 3/4" washer and a nut.

I lay it on the back seat, and seat belt it in.

This is Andy's (KAiOtiK) Hi-Lift mount using the FOURTREX clamps. He also whipped up a trick light bar using a second set [ThumbsUp]

smile Looks good.

I think Jim should angle the mount though. That way those of use that have 60" lifts could still mount them without clearing the tree branched over head. smile

I think it could be angled by just using the supplied wing nuts and backing nuts....hmmm....might try that...
