Then you way bought the wrong vehicle. What part of the X said to you "Buy me, I'm a desert racer in waiting". The X has about as much in common with a desert racer as say, oh...my Camry. Look out Mojave, here I come.
 [/b]
so you've never seen frontiers built out as pre-runners?

i have two kids so during the week a frontier or any pick up would not have been a good choice... there are comprimises in life when you have kids... that and i just loved the style of the X

maybe the other thing is that, im in Huntington Beach California, the ratio of "off-road" trucks i see in any given day works something like this:

15%-Pre-runner Trucks
5%-pre-runner SUV's
15%-Built Jeeps
10%-Built Trucks(others)
5%-Built SUV's
50%-Posuer full size ford and chevy's with >9" of
lift and >35" tires with tons of chrome

so maybe its just, others lack of exposure to Pre-runners... i think huntington beach has more than most(except maybe riverside) with two of the more well know names in pre-runner/desert racing making their homes here, Terrible Herbst and Camburg.
