Help!!!

Washed down the X last night, and in drying off, I noticed up close a whole stinking bunch of water spots, especially on the hood...Any suggestions on how to best remove em? Once they're gone, how do I keep em away? I've got a super black X, so I'm a little leery on what to use on the finish...
