I hope I'm not beating a dead horse but I worked at a car wash when I was in high school. I have a Salsa X that I bought in Jan '01. Before that I had a black '98 Frontier. My old boss told me that when beads of water sit on your paint they collect dust which sounds logical. If not wiped dry quickly, when they evaporate they leave the dirt and it bakes into the paint, especially black because it draws so much heat. You may also want to make sure it's not sap. It can blow from trees like rain drops and look like drops but SOOO much harder to get off.
