I know this may sound funny, but scrubbing bubbles bathroom cleaner and a little work from a wheel brush is the best way i've found for my wheels. I think it's because they have a smooth surface. However, the wheels on the mazda i had before my X were rough cast aluminum ( a bit harder to clean ). Eagle 1 makes type specific cleaners for different types of wheels (I naturally chose the one for rough cast aluminum) it worked great , no brush needed, but judging by the fumes, it was a pretty harsh chemical and pricey too.
