The oil pan temp is of little interest as the oil is already cooled and the bulk volume will buffer the reading response. Too bad that's where the stock temp warning sensor is located (on 4WD only.)
I've been trying to figure out how to attach a temperature sending unit to the transmission, but I don't see any way how to do that. Do you have pics of your installation, including the "thermal grease" and "insulation" bits?

Also, where is the stock temp sending unit located?
