Is it a required course? I think it's pretty stupid, but if it's an elective, let 'em have at it, however much of a waste of time it is.

Waste of time at my school - "Physics in Sports." (I ended up taking it, only because we were required to have a physics class, and my major had no need for anything more intensive than that.
