For anyone interested in getting this back on topic, I had a couple comments.

I've had both steering systems...I had the SLR kit on my Frontier and wore out idler arm bushings with it about every 6 months - brass or plastic, it didn't matter. The good thing there was that the plastic ones were cheap from the dealership.

I also wore out the Calmini ones, but have received nothing but good service in getting a replacement. It sucks that others of you have waited so long. I know one of the issues Calmini has is having cores to replace bushings in. I sent my old one back right away when I got the replacement.

Something I haven't seen anyone post on is this: Installing a spherical bearing in the Idler arm to eliminate the bushings all together. That, to me, would be a helluva lot cheaper than going out and paying over a grand for an SLR system.

It would also be a permanent fix.

Also, even when that bushing did go bad on mine, the truck was far from being a 'death trap'. It did wander a bit on the road, but there's no way for it to come apart and fail completely.

I think that part is being exaggerated.

Sorry to interrupt your flamefest. Carry on.
