I put X-drilled rotors on my prelude when I was young and naive. [Finger] Shortly thereafter, I warped them. (mainly from reasons you described)Never again.

However, the main reason I got them was because I was under the impression that the X-drilled rotors allow the gases created from braking to exit. If there is a layer of gas between the rotor and pad, it would contribute to brake fade, and low friction. [Uh Oh !]
