I disagree. How many of us back in '99 & '00 (and newer years for that matter) took ours offroad before the dealer plates even came off. Granted we didn't have $10k worth of goodies to buy yet - but maybe close (ARB bumpers, lockers, budget lifts, wheels/tires, armor, etc).
Yes, there's a difference between offroading and beating the sh*t out of your vehicle. You can do "hard" wheeling and still keep your rig in good shape.
Your $1500 Toyota probably smells funny.
