[qb] cool This problem, is one that Nissan has had trouble with, since the Xterra came out 9 yrs ago--
So nissan calls me up two days ago, and reiterates what the service manager says, and says that they wont honor it under warranty.
He says I should go from dealer to dealer, to see if anyone else will do it, and claim warranty.
I tell him, thats not my style and I shouldnt have to be wasting days and miles doing this.
He says what do I want.? I say to authorize the repair on it.
He says no, but he will talk with his bosses and call me up.
Yesterday morning, I went to my friends 06 xterra, and ask him if I can see his roof rack bolts.
We take out the torx screwdriver, and the bolts feel tight as a vise and cannot be moved.
It seems like it would be physically impossible(at least with manual torx screwdriver) to overtighten to get them to strip, and especially to do seven or eight of them(and for what purspose?)
I call the regional specialist back, he doesnt answer, but I leave a message on his answering machine, on the problems one would have trying to strip all those bolts(by accident).
Havent hear back, but I am getting plenty pissed, and will not let this fly.

Much regards
