Josh, this is the trailhead/staging area:

Dispersed camping is available along the graded road that follows the Utica Reservoir shoreline, 1/2 mile prior to reaching the trailhead. If you can find a spot along the reservoir that can accommodate our group, go for it. The Forest Service provides portable toilets scattered throughout that region, so it may be more desirable for the women and kids to camp where restroom access is relatively convenient.

If nothing decent is available, drive about 1/4 mile of the trail itself (past the staging area), and choose a campsite immediately after crossing the bridge. There's a really nice spot tucked away to the right side, after crossing the bridge, and larger sites are immediately to the left after crossing the bridge.
