BP, I think the reason they went to Platinum plugs is because everybody was finding out how hard it is to remove the #6 cylinder spark plug and have it re-gapped.

As for the aftermarket ignition companies getting stuff "plug-in" products for the Xterra we can keep dreaming they pretty-much stay with domestic applications, but alot of products are general and can be put on with some minor modifications.

I remember somebody with a Frontier posting that they had a Jacobs ignition module installed on their VG33E engine and all they had to do was send in a distributor cap to Jacobs to be modified to accept the module.

I was thinking of calling up MSD and asking if they could do something similar to install an MSD 6 offroad module in the Xterra.

Plus I do know that Accel just came out with Hi-Performance ignition wires that had custom boots to go into a pre-Xterra VG33E engine. I'm pretty sure they would work on the Xterra too.
