Yes, I carry a hi-lift on my roof rack and yes, it is home made. I welded a hi-lift locking mount to my custom built roof rack. As requested, here is a pic and you can click on my link in my signature line and view other pics if you would like. Oh, and I have the 48" hi-lift, not the 60". I found it fit better.
