Ian noticed that the '03 models list a 4.900 axle gear ratio in this thread.
Some of us are trying to find out what diff ratios were used on the 2002 models, when the 4.900 gears became available and what trim they were used on. If you have a 2002 Xterra, please post the following info:

Build date (top of driver's door jamb sticker)
Axle code (bottom of driver's door jamb sticker) such as HG46 or HG49

Vehicle trim:
XE V6 w/o sport package (no limited slip)
XE V6 w/ sport package (limited slip)
XE V6 w/ enthusiast package (limited slip)
XE V6 World Championship Edition (LSD?)
XE Supercharged (limited slip)
SE (limited slip)
SE Supercharged (limited slip)

Transmission:
Manual or automatic

I just got back from a dealer. They had an '03 XE V6 auto with just the power package (no LSD) that had the HG49 axle, as well as an '03 SE V6 auto non-SC (with LSD) that also had the HG49. So it seems the HG49 is not non-SC SE only as nissannews.com indicates.
I also saw 5 XE V6 02 models, all of which did NOT have the LSD and had the HG49 axle with both manual and auto transmission. The oldest was built in 12/01. I saw no '02 SEs and no '02 XE w/ LSD left on the lot.
