Of course, most of these problems come from liberal schools and we know that all schools lean to the left. So all students turn out to be low life scums later on. They go to college, study some fancy elitists subjects like law or engineering and then they get decent salaries after only several years of school. Most of that money will be wasted on pot or other lefty things. Yet another reason for them to shut the fuck up and let some old farts rule the world. Why in the living world would anybody spend more money on some social program that *may* work if we can waste money on a war or something?
Parts of me are laughing as I read this because I think you're trying to be sarcastic, and make a broad generalization in order to poke fun at the "conservatives" amongst this board. Then again maybe you do in fact believe these "right wing" views are silly and that they're the root cause of the world's problems today. No matter what you believe, I'll accept your views because I think you're entitled to them. Doesn't mean I agree with them though... I merely accept that you have a view. smile

I'd like to say this much since I was a college student a couple of years ago. During my stint at college, I often felt that my school leaned towards the "left" whenever political issues were discussed. I don't fault the school for expressing their views though, because that was a pivotal part of the educational experience.. hearing what others had to say. As I look back though maybe they weren't as "left" as I've painted them out to be in my mind... maybe it was just my interpretation.

I just think that it's way too easy for a college student to fall into a "leftist" way of thinking during the college experience. So many students lives are taken care of (not all students fall into my generalization because some have to work jobs outside of college to support themselves) during college therefore they don't necessarily realize the value of a dollar. Case in point is myself... I had scholarships and parents who helped guarantee that I had adequate food, housing, books, tuition, etc... (I'm very fortunate). I don't believe it was till after college that I started to realize how much a dollar was worth (*insert your own joke about the real value of our currency in the market today). If I wanted something it wasn't a matter of merely picking up the phone or expecting the state to provide it for me. This time around I had to fight for a living through a combination of hard work and good timing. Still do! laugh

Now I hear that during these tough times (nothing compared to the 1930's era) there's candidates who propose taking even more from me and you? Um, no thanks!! mad I have to fight hard enough for that which I have and I don't intend to give it up (unless iminent domain was exercised then I have no choice). [LOL]

Yes, I don't like the idea of the war anymore. Yes, I don't like paying nearly $3.75 for unleaded gasoline. Yes, those higher prices in the grocery store hurt tremendously. No, I don't think either side of the political spectrum is going to wave their magic wand and alleviate all of these problems. That's what riles me up though... this mindset that one party has all the answers. I say thank God for checks and balances. [ThumbsUp]

I get the concept of proposing something that "may" fix an issue, but I don't agree with it right now. I'd much rather see our government tackle what's currently on our plate instead of adding to the spending. As I've said many times to family members, when one tax is elimated it'll get neatly packaged up into another one with a fancier name. Let's face it, by implementing new socialistic ideas we'll probably add to the current economic crunch consumers face all ready.

Thanks for reading. :p

P.S. I received an accounting degree from a state run university and I think I turned out pretty normal.
