I think the Flyers are a contender now. They signed Daniel Briere to an eight-year contract. At a cap hit of $6.5 mil a year. The 6.5 is not that bad. But, 8 years is a long time. Also there is a no movement clause in the contract.
The Flyers have the tools now to win. As long as they stay healthy. I don't think they are done yet either.
